Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 10 drops SweetLeaf SteviaClear or 1/4 tsp SweetLeaf Stevia powder
  • 1 cup your choice of Phase I-approved fruit

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, stir together lemon juice, vanilla, apple cider vinegar and stevia and heat on low.
  • Pour over fresh fruit.

Asparagus with Rosemary Lemon Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 cups asparagus trimmed
  • Juice of 1 lemon save rind
  • 2 Tbsp Bragg Liquid Aminos or coconut aminos or tamari soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp Celtic sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary fresh or dried
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • Mix together lemon juice, Bragg Liquid Aminos and garlic and pour over asparagus. Let marinate at least 30 minutes.
  • Steam or grill asparagus to desired level of doneness.
  • In a small saucepan place remaining marinade with lemon rind, 1/2 cup water, spices and cook until pulp starts to come out and liquid is reduced by half.
  • Remove lemon rind and pour liquid over grilled asparagus and top with pepper.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges.

Asparagus Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups asparagus
  • 2 cups bone broth chicken or vegetable
  • 3 Tbsp Bragg Liquid Aminos or coconut aminos or tamari soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp onion chopped
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Trim asparagus to remove the tough ends of the stalk and steam until soft.
  • Puree asparagus with broth and spices in a blender or food processor.
  • Heat soup in a saucepan before serving.

Phase II Variation: Saute the onion in butter, add milk or cream.
